Petrovich earns CoSIDA All-Academic

MONMOUTH, Ore. - Mike Petrovich was voted to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine All-District VIII football team as a defensive lineman. The junior from Anchorage, Alaska has a 3.47 cumulative grade point average while majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry.

On the field, he has played in all nine games as part of the Wolves' defensive line rotation and has a tackle in eight of them. He also was part of a crucial sack late in the fourth quarter in Western Oregon's 17-16 win over Dixie State.

Petrovich was also one of nine WOU football student-athletes to be named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic team.

Carolanne Powers won the javelin at the 2010 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships with a season-best and NCAA automatic qualifying standard of 154-9 (47.19m).
