Speer is the GNAC Player of the Week

MONMOUTH, Ore. - Justin Speer of the Western Oregon University baseball team has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 23-29.

Speer, a senior outfielder from Gresham, Ore. (Gresham High School/Mt. Hood CC), had eight hits, including three doubles and two home runs, and drove in 11 runs to lead the Wolves to six victories. Speer, who leads the GNAC in RBI with 24, batted .421 as WOU swept a four-game series at Northwest Nazarene and won the first two games of a four-game home series with Central Washington.

The Western Oregon baseball team will face two GNAC foes this week as it travels to Lacey, Wash., for games with Saint Martin's Wednesday, Apr. 1, before hosting Montana State Billings for a four-game series Apr. 3-4.
