MONMOUTH, Ore.
- The Western Oregon University men's and women's track & field teams both finished the season ranked in the top 25 of the final U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches association poll.

The men finished the year as the No. 11 team out of 144 NCAA Division II schools sponsoring men's track & field. The Wolves were ranked 11th with 331.37 points and were the only team from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference represented on the list. Western Oregon was also one of just three and the second ranked western region team on the list, trailing only No. 10 Chico State with 332.79 points.

The women completed the 2009 outdoor season ranked No. 25 out of 149 universities with 264.25 points. The Wolves are the second ranked team in the GNAC behind Northwest Nazarene at No. 19 with 276.71 points. They are also one of only four ranked west region teams (UC San Diego, Cal State LA and NNU).

The Wolves will send Jason Slowey, Annan Applebee and Zeb Udell to the NCAA Division II outdoor championships May 21-23 in San Angelo, Texas, to complete the 2009 season.
