Playing their best all-around game of the Friendship tour, the Wolves demolished Club El Talar of Argentina 107-34. The visitor's torched the nets for 12 three-pointer in 18 attempts and had an impressive 31 assists on 40 baskets. The Wolves also pulled down 65 rebounds, and held their opponent to 16 points in the final three quarters of play.
There were several outstanding individual performances. Kristen Hein, an All-GNAC performer at Northwest Nazarene posted the lone double-double scoring 15 points and pulling down 14 rebounds while also finding time to dish out a game high six assists. Katie Torland, WOU's All-GNAC award winner, led the scoring with 27 points (knocking down 3-of-4 from behind the International three-point line and 8-of-9 free throws) and grabbing nine boards.
AJ Hawk topped the rebounding totals with 16 while scoring nine points and passing off for five assists. For the second consecutive game, Sara Zahler was on fire from downtown, making five treys in seven tries on her way to scoring 19 points while also gathering six rebounds and matching Hein with 6 assists. Danielle Bellando scored 18 points on an impressive 9 of 13 from the field with 6 boards and 4 assists. Colby Patton also had a team-leading 6 assists in addition to tossing in 9 points.
The Wolves will take Monday off from competition as they take a boat trip down the Tigre River and will resume with their final contest of the Friendship tour on Tuesday before returning to Oregon on Wednesday, June 24th.
