MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Western Oregon University baseball program will host five camps between October and December 2009 to assist local youth and high school baseball players in their preparation for the upcoming season.

Each camp will focus on the development of specific baseball skills and techniques. The camps will be held at the Physical Education Building on the campus of Western Oregon University and are open to anyone 8-18 years of age.

The Wolves will offer a one-day infield skills & drills camp on Sunday, Oct. 11 from 11:00 a.m., to 5:00 p.m. There will also be the traditional infield camp which will be held Sunday, Nov. 1 from 11:00 a.m., to 5:00 p.m. The cost for each of these camps is $80 per camper.

The pitching & catching camp will be held Dec. 5-6. Saturday's session will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Sunday's session beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m. The cost is $130 per camper.

Western Oregon baseball will also offer two camps which focus on hitting. The WOU hitting skills & drills camp will be held Oct. 17-18 with the traditional hitting camp scheduled for Dec. 12-13. Both camps will be $130 per camper and will run from 10:00 a.m., to 4:00 p.m., on Saturday and from 10:00 a.m., to 4:00 p.m., on Sunday.

His squad won its ninth straight conference championship (four under Robbins), and finished the year with a 34-14 record. Robbins was named the 2009 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He also earned the Oregon 3A Coach of the Year in 2004 at Douglas High School.

Other clinic coaches include WOU pitching coach Matt Skundrick along with assistant coaches Kellen Walker and Sam Kirby.

WOU baseball players will also be involved in demonstrations and teaching.
