Three Wolves receive GNAC honors

MONMOUTH, Ore. - Three members of the Western Oregon men's basketball team earned postseason honors. Blair Wheadon was named to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference second team and Rico Myles received an honorable mention, while Tarance Glynn captured Freshman of the Year honors, Monday, Mar. 8.

Wheadon, a sophomore point guard from Junction City, Ore. (Junction City High School), led the Wolves with 13.3 points per game, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals. He also placed second in the GNAC in minutes (34.9) and steals, while ranking sixth in three-point percentage (43.2) and fourth in treys per game (2.3).

Myles, a senior forward from Los Angeles, Calif. (Crenshaw High School/Morgan State), finished third in the league in rebounding (8.3), 10th in field goal percentage (54.7) and 16th in scoring (13.1) in his only season with the Wolves. He also had a team-best six double-doubles and scored a team-high 29 points in a game against Saint Martin's.

Glynn, a freshman forward from Molalla, Ore. (Molalla High School), split time this season as a starter and the sixth-man for the Wolves. He averaged 8.7 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 50.4-percent from the field. In the final game of the season, he recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. This was the third straight season, and fourth in the last five, that a Western Oregon basketball student-athlete has been named the GNAC Freshman of the Year.
