MONMOUTH, Ore. - Carolanne Powers has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Track & Field Female Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 5-11.

Powers, a freshman from Keizer, Ore. (McNary High School) won the javelin in the John Knight Twilight meet at Monmouth with a NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 154-0 (46.94m). She added 15 feet, 9 inches to her previous provisional national qualifying mark in posting the fourth-best throw in conference history. Her mark also moved her into second place on the 2010 NCAA performance list and was one of just four females to earn an auto qualifying standard this season in the javelin.
