Four named to All-West Region team

MONMOUTH, Ore.
- Daniel Dillard, Jason Moseby, Jacob Pettit and Blake Keitzman of the Western Oregon University baseball team were all selected to the 2010 Daktronics Division II All-West Region second team.

This was the second straight year Keitzman and Pettit have earned Daktronics all-region honors.

Pettit was named as a starting pitcher on the second team in both his junior and senior seasons. This year the lefty from Orting, Wash. (Orting HS/Green River CC), was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year after finishing the season with a 7-1 record and a conference record 1.80 ERA. He ended the season with a 20 consecutive inning scoreless streak, which included two complete game shutouts. He also tied for the league lead in wins and shutouts, and finished fourth in opponent batting average (.238) and ninth in strike outs (45). Pettit was named to the All-GNAC first team in his only two seasons with the squad.

After earning first team all-region honors last year, Keitzman was named to the second team this year. The senior lefty from Roseburg, Ore. (Roseburg HS/Oregon State), tied for the league lead with seven wins and placed fourth with a 3.84 ERA. He also paced the conference with eight shutouts and 9.12 strike outs per nine innings. Keitzman also earned unanimous first team all-conference honors as a junior and senior.

Moseby, a senior from Bellevue, Wash. (Newport HS/Bellevue CC), was selected to the Daktronics All-West Region squad as the designated hitter. He finished fourth in the GNAC with a .359 batting average. Moseby also ranked third in home runs (7) and doubles (16), while placing fourth in on-base percentage (.438) and second in slugging (.601).

Dillard earned the all-region selection in the outfield. The junior from Olalla, Wash., (South Kitsap HS/Pierce CC), was named the GNAC Newcomer of the Year after breaking the Western Oregon school record and leading the GNAC with 16 home runs this season. Dillard also led the conference in runs scored (tied-51), total bases (128) and slugging (.699). The junior also ranked among the leaders in batting average (third, .361), hits (t-second, 66), RBI (second, 47) and on-base percentage (.417). His 11 home runs in conference set a GNAC record.
