EUGENE, Ore. -
Kaitlyn Reid of the Western Oregon University track & field team continued her ascent up the school's record book in the 100m hurdles, as she bettered her time in the event for the fourth time this season at the Oregon Relays, Saturday, May 8.
Reid posted a time of 14.64 in the event to move into second place on the 2010 Great Northwest Athletic Conference performance list and into fourth place on the Wolves' all-time top 10 list. Her mark also earned her the seventh-best mark in the history of the GNAC.
Mike Schmidt registered a season-low time of 1:52.57 in the men's 800m run to match teammate
Carson O'Brien second place in school history. That time earned Schmidt an NCAA provisional qualifying standard and jumped him from fourth into a tie for second on the 2010 GNAC performance list.
Kyle Larson registered a time of 1:54.33 in the same event to move into seventh on the performance list.
The men's 4x400m relay team of
Ashtin Mott,
Anthony Yakovich,
Andy Loscutoff and
Matt Kaino also moved into seventh place in conference history with a time of 3:17.90, as they won the event at the Oregon Twilight. Their time also moved them into second on the 2010 GNAC performance list.
Ashley Potter won the women's triple jump by over a foot at the Oregon Twilight with a leap of 38-8.75 (11.80m). However, it was not her longest mark of the season. He jumped exactly a foot longer, 39-8.75 (12.11m), at the Stanford Invitational.
Western Oregon head coach
Mike Johnson was very impressed with the team's performance at the Oregon Twilight. "I really like this team and we really have some great (student-athletes)," he said.
"We are getting ready for the GNAC Championships and hosting every one down here," Johnson continued. "I know this team will do their best next week, and I hope we will prevail."
