MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Western Oregon University volleyball team will get its 2010 campaign underway Thursday, Sept. 2, when it hosts Willamette at 7:00 p.m.
The Wolves will return five student-athletes from year's team as they begin their quest for their second conference championship in three seasons. Among those returning to the court are seniors
Jorden Burrows (6-0, Sr., Lebanon, Ore.) and
Stephanie Beeler (5-10, MB, Tillamook, Ore.), junior
Sylvia Herrold (5-11, OH, Ilwaco, Wash.), along with sophomores
Danielle Reese (5-11, OH, Gig Harber, Wash.) and
Samantha Ward (6-0, So., Salem, Ore.).
Western Oregon owns a 26-7 advantage in the all-time series between the schools, which dates back to 1984. However, the teams have not played a regular season match since 1997.
