Men sit 2nd, women 7th after GNAC day 1

NAMPA, Idaho
- After day one of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships the men are in second and the women in seventh.

The men are just 3.67 points back of Western Washington (40 to 36.33) as they look for their fourth straight GNAC Indoor title. The men's team received 18 of their points in the long jump as Kyle Lane took first with a leap of 23-4.5 (7.12m) and Jake Hyde captured second with a jump of 23-0.5 (7.02m).

Jason Slowey earned the team 10 more points in the shot put with a throw of 52-8 (16.05m).

The men's heptathlon has completed four of seven events and Andy Loscutoff sits second with 2490 points. He won the 60m dash, the long jump and the shot put. He also took fifth in the high jump.

Elrycc Berkman and Zach Massari tied for sixth and each grabbed 2.5 points in the high jump by clearing 5-10.75 (1.80m).

The meet continues on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. with the men's heptathlon.
