TURLOCK, Calif.
- For the second year in a row, Western Oregon will be able to boast about two student-athletes earning All-American honors in the javelin.

Today Amanda Schumaker and Will Crook both placed in the top 8 in the event to grab team points for Western Oregon and capture All-American status.

Schumaker recorded a throw of 137-10 (42.01m) on her final attempt of the day to move from ninth to eighth place. This was the second straight season the sophomore from Gladstone, Ore. (Gladstone HS) has earned All-American honors in the javelin after she took sixth place at Nationals last year.

Crook, a sophomore from Jewell, Ore. (Jewell HS), took eighth place in the men's field with a throw of 196-3 (59.83m). He recorded his best mark on his fifth toss of the day. This was the second straight trip to Nationals for Crook who moved up from 16th place last season to earn All-American status this year.

Western Oregon also had two individuals earn All-American honors in the javelin during the 2010 outdoor season, as Schumaker and Carolanne Powers placed fifth and sixth to earn the award.
