SEATTLE
- The Western Oregon track & field team closed out its weekend at the Dempsey Center with a strong day at the UW Open Meet, as 10 student-athletes made movement on the school's all-time top 10 list.

Janna Vander Meulen moved herself from sixth to fourth on the Wolves' all-time top 10 list in the 60m hurdles with a career-best time of 9.19. This mark was .05 seconds better than her previous career-best time which she set during her sophomore season.

Anthony Yakovich also etched his name in the top 5 in school history as he ran a time of 49.75 in the men's 400m. His career-best time propelled him from eighth to fifth in the Western Oregon record books.

In the women's field events Katie Pelchar and Charlene Harber both earned their places on the top 10 list. Pelchar cleared 5-5 (1.65m) in the high jump to leap into a tie for sixth place in school history. That mark was just .75 of an inch of earning her an NCAA provisional qualifying standard. Harber tossed the shot put 39-8.75 (12.11m) for the Wolves' longest throw in the event since 2006. Her throw was the ninth longest in WOU history.

Tim Lundy provided the Wolves with a top 10 mark in the men's pole vault as he cleared 15-5.5 to move to sixth in school history.

Nicole Anderson earned her first career mark on the top 10 list with a time of 5:15.88 in the women's mile to move to seventh in school history.

The women's 4x400m relay team of Audrey Hellesto, Janelle Everetts, Meryl Butcher and Megan Everetts posted a time of 4:04.37 to move to 10th on the Wolves' all-time top 10 list.

"The team is coming along nicely but we have to improve the next four or five days as we get ready for the GNAC Indoor Championships," said Western Oregon head coach Mike Johnson.

"We don't point only towards GNAC Indoors but we try to compete the best we can this time of year," Johnson continued. "We don't sacrifice outdoor for indoors, but we want to do as well as we can during the indoor championships."

The GNAC Indoor Championships will be next weekend (Feb. 17-18) in Nampa, Idaho. The men will be looking for their fifth straight conference indoor championship, and third straight (indoor and outdoor) overall.
