MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will hold its annual WOU Wolves Athletic Auction, this year featuring gueast speaker A.C. Green, on Saturday, April 28, at the Salem Conference Center in Salem, Ore.

Tickets to the event are $85 each or $600 for a table of eight and can be purchased online here or through WOU Athletics by calling the foundation office at 503-838-8449. With the purchase of a ticket, each guest will enjoy a buffet style dinner, wine and beer and the chance to bid on a number of great items.

“We are extremely excited about having A.C. Green serve as our featured speaker for the Wolves Athletics Auction,” Athletic Director Daniel Hare said. “He was an exceptional student-athlete at Oregon State and we are thrilled he has decided to help us raise money for student-athlete scholarship support at Western Oregon University.”

Green will serve as speaker for an event in its 26th year that has grown from a local backyard 25 years ago to one with over 275 guests as it has helped a provide a countless number of student-athletes over the years with crucial scholarship support.

The Portland, Ore., native, who played collegiately at Oregon State, was the 23rd overall selection in the 1985 NBA Draft by the Lakers and won three NBA Championships in his four trips during his time in Los Angeles. He finished his career with 12,331 points and 9,473 rebounds in 16 seasons, was named to the 1988-89 All-Defensive second-team and played in the 1990 All-Star Game.

Known as the NBA's "Iron Man", Green played 1,192 consecutive NBA games, more than any player in NBA and ABA history. He played 1,278 out of 1,281 games in his career (99.8%) with the Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat.

Prior to his NBA career, Green led the Beavers to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the NCAA West Regional Championship game in 1982. The Beavers finished No. 4 in the nation in the Associated Press and UPI polls after that season.

Oregon State also advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 1984 and 1985 and to the NIT in Green's sophomore season.

The Benson High School graduate earned third-team All-American honors and was named Region 8 Player of the Year after his senior season when he averaged 19.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.

He was an honorable mention All-American and Pac-10 Player of the Year after his junior season in 1984 when he averaged 17.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. He averaged 14 points and 7.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore and 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as a freshman.

He was a three-time All-Pac-10 selection in 1983, '84 and '85 and was the Far West Classic Most Valuable Player in 1984 and a three-time member of the Far West Classic All-Tournament Team.

His Oregon State jersey (#45) was retired during the 1996-97 season and he was inducted into the Oregon State Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996, the State of Oregon Hall of Fame in 2003 and will be inducted into the Pac-12 Hall of Fame in March. He is also a member of the Pac-10 All-Decade Team.
