Janelle Everetts and
Ryan Hansen are both feeling much better about their chance to run in the National meet after career-best performances at the Seattle Pacific Last Chance meet.
Janelle Everetts posted a time of 2:11.78 in the 800m to jump into eighth place Nationally. Her NCAA provisional qualifying mark was also the second fastest mark in Western Oregon history and 10th in Great Northwest Athletic Conference history.
Ryan Hansen also went to second in school and GNAC history in the 800m run with a time of 1:51.55. With that provisional qualifying time the sophomore from Dallas, Ore. vaulted into 11th in Division II this season.
In that same race
Kyle Larson moved into fourth place in school history with a time of 1:53.19. That time was also an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and the eighth fastest time in GNAC history. That was the 24th quickest time in Division II this season.
The Wolves also had a successful race in the men's mile as both
Dan Sprinkle and
Lukas Fenley had career best times Saturday. Sprinkle ran an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:10.66 to move into fourth in Western Oregon history. Fenley then jumped into seventh place on the Wolves all-time top 10 list with a time of 4:14.18.
Everetts' and Hansen's time both look to have earned them a place at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Mankato, Minn., Mar. 9-10. The official field will be announced later in the week.
