Hansen runs his way into the NCAA finals

MANKATO, Minn.
- Ryan Hansen earned his spot into the finals of the men's 800m at the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships by recording a time of 1:54.81 on Friday, Mar. 9th.

Hansen placed eighth in the preliminaries with that time to earn his place into the finals which will be run on Saturday, Mar. 10th at 3:10 p.m. (PST). Hansen was one of nine student-athletes to qualify for the finals.

"Hansen will be good to go for the finals tomorrow," said Western Oregon head coach Mike Johnson. "All the distance races have been slow on this 200m flat track but he got it done and gets to move forward."

Janelle Everetts missed her chance to run in the finals by one place. Everetts finished 10th in the race with a time of 2:16.35 to miss the finals by one spot.

Hansen will be joined on the final day of NCAA Championships by fellow Wolf Ashley Potter. Potter will start competing in the triple jump on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (PST), with Hansen set to run at 3:10 p.m.
