MONMOUTH, Ore. - For the second time this season,
Bo Folkinga has been named the West Region Player of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association.
Folkinga, a senior from Twin Falls, Idaho (Twin Falls HS), hit .500 (8-for-16) over the weekend as Western Oregon took three of four games at Northwest Nazarene. Folkinga crushed four home runs in the series to help lead a Wolves' offensive barrage that hit 12 long balls and scored 49 runs in the four-game set. He also drove in 10 runs and scored seven more in the series. The first baseman has now hit safely in 12 straight games, nine of which were multi-hit games.
Folkinga and the rest of his Western Oregon teammates will be off this week before continuing their season, Apr. 28-29 at home against Central Washington. Saturday's game will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the first pitch on Sunday is scheduled for Noon. Sunday will also be Senior Day for 13 Western Oregon seniors.
