NEW ORLEANS
- Western Oregon associate head coach Isaac Frederick is starting to build a reputation as one of the top track & field instructors in the West. Frederick was recently named the USTFCCCA West Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year for the indoor and outdoor seasons.

The sixth-year assistant will enter Nationals with the ninth-best triple jumper and two entries in the javelin, including the third-best mark. Frederick witnessed that same triple jumper (Ashley Potter) take second place at the NCAA Indoor Championships to help his alma mater to 19th as a team.

Frederick has now won the USTFCCCA award as the top assistant coach in the region for the second straight year. Last year he was named the men's assistant of the year after guiding the Wolves' team to indoor and outdoor championships, and Will Crook to All-American status.

This season Frederick has helped Western Oregon set 13 new marks on the school's all-time top 10 list including record shattering performances by Amanda Schumaker in the javelin and Ashley Potter in the triple jump (indoor and outdoor).

Isaac Frederick has been around the Western Oregon track & field program since 2003 when he was named the GNAC Newcomer of the Year. Frederick still ranks in the Western Oregon record books. His time of 21.37 in the 200m has kept him third in school history and his time of 48.24 in the 400m have him ranked fourth. He is a graduate of David Douglas High School in Portland and alumnus of Western Oregon University.
