PUEBLO, Colo. - Dan Sprinkle ranked sixth in the prelims of the men's 3000m steeple chase at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships to earn the right to run in the final on Friday (May 25).

Sprinkle posted a time of 9:36.86 to become one of the 12 runners to move to the finals. He finished third in his heat.

"It was a very physical race which was run in tough conditions and high winds," said Western Oregon head coach Mike Johnson.

"Dan ran a good, solid race (to get to the finals)," Johnson continued. "The finals are a very talented field and it will be a tough race again tomorrow."

Sprinkle and Ashley Potter will both be representing the Wolves tomorrow. Potter will get things started in the triple jump starting at 4:15 p.m. (PST) and Sprinkle will follow at 6:35 p.m.
