OREGON PREVIEW - COMPLETE RESULTS
EUGENE, Ore. – Western Oregon senior javelin thrower
Amanda Schumaker highlighted a strong day for the Wolves track and field team at the Oregon Preview as the senior established a NCAA automatic qualifying mark at the meet on Saturday. The senior won the event with a toss of 154-09 to qualify for her fourth-consecutive NCAA championship meet.
The Wolves had a number of strong performances on Saturday as sprinter
Jeff Howard recorded a pair of strong times, finishing in fourth in the 100-meters with a time of 10.79 while posting a time of 21.87 to finish in eighth in the 200-meters.
On the women's side,
Emmi Collier had a strong effort in the shot put as her toss of 43-02 left her just nine inches short of a NCAA provisional mark in the event.
A number of Wolves posted strong finishes at the meet, including
Kody Rhodes as the hurdler finished the 110-hurdles in a time of 14.98 to finish fifth. Rhodes also had a strong effort in the 400-hurdles as he finished in third with a time of 54.90.
Justin Larson rounded out a strong day for the Wolves in the field events as he finished in second-place in the javelin with a toss of 194-00.
WOU will return to action on Friday, March 29, when the Wolves travel to Stanford, Calif., for the Stanford Invite.
