LEWIS & CLARK INVITATIONAL - COMPLETE RESULTS
BEARCAT MULTI - COMPLETE RESULTS
FOREST GROVE, Ore. – During a weekend that saw the Western Oregon track & field team send a small contingent to the Lewis & Clark Invitational, WOU won a pair of events at the meet as
Kody Rhodes captured the 110-meter hurdles title while Zachary Holloway won the men's steeplechase.
Running in his first collegiate steeplechase, Holloway came away with his first collegiate win as he finished the event in a time of 9:56.54, nearly eight seconds ahead of Clackamas' Austin Peila.
Meanwhile, Rhodes continues his strong outdoor season as the he captured the 110-meter title with a time of 15.57.
In the sprints,
Jeff Howard picked up a pair of second-place finishes as he finished second in the 100-meters with a time of 11.08 while claiming a runner-up finish in the 200-meters with a time of 21.94.
The middle distance runners had a solid showing for WOU at the meet, including Stan Wester as he finished in second in the 400-hurdles with a time of 55.97.
On the women's side,
Stephanie Stuckey led the Wolves in the 800-meters, finishing in third with a time of 2:21.41 while Holly Meler ran a 2:29.81 with
Rachel Shelley finishing in a time of 2:31.62.
In addition,
Rebecca Laible finished in fifth-place in the 100-hurdles with a season-best time of 16.36.
Finally, in the pole vault,
Rebecca Hazel earned a third-place finish in the pole vault with a career best clearance of 10-02.00.
WOU also had a pair of athletes compete at the Bearcat Multi Invitational this weekend as
Eric Gaines finished in fourth-place in the decathlon with a score of 5780 while
Maylea Tooze finished in fourth in her first career heptathlon with a score of 3418.
WOU will return to action on Friday, March 29, when the Wolves travel to the Stanford Invite in Stanford, Calif.
