PORTLAND, Ore. – Western Oregon track & field middle distance runner Chris Olsen has been named the Red Lion Hotels Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his performance at the Stanford Invite, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Olsen picked up the honor after he finished fourth in the B section of the 800 meters at the Stanford Invite in a time of 1:51.43.  The time ranks fourth this spring among NCAA Division II athletes and ranks sixth on the GNAC all-time Top 10 chart.

Earlier this season, Olsen earned All-American honors after he finished in fourth-place at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

WOU will return to the track this weekend when the Wolves travel to the Willamette Invite on Saturday, April 6, in Salem, Ore.
