MONMOUTH, Ore. – The week ahead will be a special one for the Western Oregon Department of Intercollegiate Athletics as the Wolves will host a pair of Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championship events this weekend. WOU will play host to the inaugural GNAC Baseball Championship, May 9-10, as the Wolves will also host the GNAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 10-11.
The action gets underway on Thursday, May 9, at the WOU Baseball Field when the top-seeded WOU baseball team hosts third-seeded Montana State Billings at 10:00 a.m. Central Washington and the Yellowjackets will meet in an opening round contest at 1:00 p.m. before WOU and CWU close out the day one tripleheader at 4:00 p.m.
Following the day one action on the diamond, championship round play will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at 12:00 p.m. with an “if necessary” game slated for 3:00 p.m.
On the track, the action gets underway on Friday, May 10, at 2:00 p.m. from McArthur Field. Day one will see a majority of preliminary events before finals take place on Saturday, May 11, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Admission to each session in $8 for adults and $5 for students and children and can be purchased at the ticket gates on the day of the event. Please note, 2013 WOU Spring Sports passes cannot be used for entry into postseason championship events.
