OREGON PREVIEW RESULTS     SPRING BREAK OPEN RESULTS

The Western Oregon University track and field women's and men's teams sent split squads to the Oregon Preview and the Lewis and Clark Spring Break Open Saturday.

In Eugene, Brady Beagley ran a provisional-qualifying mark for the NCAA Div. II National Championships in the men's 1,500 meters. His time of 3:50.72 was a lifetime best and currently the second fastest time in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The senior's time is fourth on the WOU all-time list. He placed ninth in the race.

"Brady ran a strong intelligent race in a quality field on a windy day," WOU Head Coach Mike Johnson said. "He is laying a strong foundation for the challenges he is about to face."

Emmi Collier improved her GNAC Championship automatic-qualifying mark in the women's shot put. The sophomore's second place finish came after her 42-10.75 (13.07 meters) third toss. On Friday in Portland, she finished fifth in the hammer throw with a top mark of 142-01 (43.31m). Her new personal best improved her GNAC Championship provisional mark.

In just her second 400-meter hurdle race, Audrey Hellesto ran the fourth fastest 400-meter hurdle time in the conference this season. The junior's time of 1:05.34 improved her GNAC provisional time. She placed fourth in the event, and won her heat, at the Oregon Preview. Kody Rhodes finished with a GNAC automatic-qualifying mark in the men's 400-meter hurdles. His time of 52.42 is fifth currently in the conference. The senior anchored the 4x400-meter relay team to victory in their heat as well.

In the men's 800 meters at the Oregon Preview, Ryan Hansen ran a GNAC auto-mark of 1:52.69. The time is currently first in the conference and third on the WOU all-time list. Josh Hanna ran a GNAC provisional time of 1:54.75 at the Spring Break Open. Hansen finished sixth in Eugene, while Hanna won the event in Portland.

Rebecca Laible, Dustin Camarillo, Zach Holloway, and Kyle Lane all hit conference provisional marks Saturday. Laible posted the best women's triple jump mark in the GNAC this season at 37-3.25 (11.36m). Holloway's 9:35.28 steeplechase first place time is the top time in the conference currently. Lane had a top leap of 43-10 (13.36m) in the men's triple jump. Camarillo finished first in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.70. Bailey Beeson also took the women's 800-meter Spring Break Open title.

Women's javelin national qualifier, Seabre Church, rebounded for a solid day after her first throw was batted by an inattentive field judge.

"I am not sure I have encountered that before." Johnson said. "It was an unfortunate event but Seabre handled the situation well.

"We had many positives this weekend and made significant progress. We have much, much more yet to accomplish."

The Wolves stay local and travel to Salem, Ore., next Saturday, for the Willamette Invitational. Live results will be available on WOUWolves.com.
