Complete Husky Classic ResultsSEATTLE  – The Western Oregon track and field team sent a limited squad to compete in the 2016 Husky Classic at Dempsey Indoor on the campus of the University of Washington. The Wolves saw plenty of personal bests during the meet and a few school records rewritten.

In the semifinal heats of the 60-meter hurdles, sophomore
Kaleb Dobson ran a personal best and WOU school record time of 8.30 seconds. The previous mark of 8.33 seconds was run by Kody Rhodes in 2014.

Sophmore
David Ribich ran his mile in 4:07.38 to become the school's new record holder by a second. The run placed Ribich 33
rd in a talented field of Division I distance runners. In the same distance, senior
Sam Naffziger moved into third place in the WOU record books with a time of 4:09.20, a personal best and improvement on his previous provisional qualifying mark.

In the 800 meters, senior
Badane Sultessa ran a personal best 1:49.95 to finish third overall. His time is second best in WOU history and fell just .71 seconds from an automatic qualifying standard.
Josh Dempsey slid into ninth place in the record books with a run of 1:53.41 while Jodsh Hanna completed his race in 1:56.36.

Up next for Western Oregon is the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships next weekend (Feb. 19-20) in Nampa, Idaho.
