MONMOUTH, Ore.—Playing its final road game of the season, the Western Oregon University football team will travel to Texas face Tarleton State University on Saturday, Oct. 28. The matchup will be the first meeting between the two teams.
ABOUT TARLETON STATE (5-3, 4-2 LSC): The Texans snapped a two-game skid last week with a 41-34 win at Texas A&M Kingsville… Tarleton State is fourth in the Lone Star Conference standings with a 4-2 record…  The Texans have held a slight edge in scoring over their opponents this season, 29.6-26.4 points per game… The Texans have been outgained on the ground, 198.0-119.3 yards per game… Quarterback Zed Woerner is fourth in the LSC with 207.4 passing yards per game and third with a 134.6 QB efficiency rating… Jeff Thomas has been on the receiving end of 42 passes and has tallied 639 yards and five scores… Daniel McCants leads the conference with a 32.2 average on 19 kickoff returns… Defensively, Basil Jackson leads the LSC with 13.7 tackles per game.
REVIS LEADS DII:Â In six games this season, seniorÂ
Paul Revis has hauled in 78 catches for 910 yards… His 9.8 receptions per game average leads NCAA DII with the next best rate 9.0 receptions per game by Central Oklahoma's J.T. Luper... Revis' 910 receiving yards is good for No. 7 and his 113.8 yards per game mark is good for No. 8 in the nation.
REVIS SEASON RECORDS: In only seven games,
Paul Revis set a WOU single season record for receptions against Central Washington on Oct. 14, breaking Brad Satran's 2003 mark of 71 catches… Revis now has three of the top four single-season marks with 70 catches in 2016 and 67 catches in 2014… Revis holds the single-season touchdown reception and receiving yards marks with 11 scoring grabs and 1,149 yards in 2014… His current rate of 9.8 receptions per game is easily the school record for a single season, topping Satran's average of 7.1 in 2003... Revis has the top two totals for all-purpose yards in a single season with a school record 2,029 yards (184.5 ypg) in 2014.
SOLID SALDANA: Kicker
Adrian Saldana has converted 10 field goal attempts this season to ti for fifth in a single season at WOU… Andrew Keippele holds the school mark with 14 conversions in 2002… Saldana's field goal rate of 71.4 percent (10-for-14) is No. 2 all-time at WOU. Â
REVIS GNAC POW (Oct. 23): Revis had a pair of punt returns for 100 yards, including a 90-yard return for a touchdown in the second quarter to give the Wolves a 17-14 lead against No. 22-ranked Humboldt State... The return was the second longest in both WOU and GNAC history and the fourth touchdown on a punt return in Revis' career. The senior finished the day with 189 all-purpose yards with 89 receiving yards.
JOHNSON GNAC POW (Sept. 25): Tyler Johnson came up with 17 tackles, two tackles for loss and forced a fumble, which later resulted in a touchdown, against Humboldt State on Sept. 23. Johnson also had an interception in the fourth quarter. His 17 tackles was tied for the sixth most in a single game in WOU history.
SALDANA, ANDERSON GNAC POWS (Sept. 18):Â After a 58-21 win at Western New Mexico State, WOU juniorÂ
Adrian Saldana and redshirt freshmanÂ
Curtis Anderson were named the GNAC Players of the Week… Anderson earned the defensive honor after recording seven tackles (3 solo, 4 assists) and picking off two passes… Anderson's second interception was returned 72 yards for a touchdown… Saldana scored 14 points to earn the Special Team Player of the Week honor… Saldana made 3-of-4 on field goal attempts, including a 38-yarder, and was 5-of-5 on extra points. Â
HIGHBURGER GNAC POW (Sept. 11):Â Senior linebackerÂ
Bo Highburger was tabbed as the GNAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 11 after his performance against Central Washington University… Highburger totaled 10 tackles, including one sack and a fumble recovery in the 30-23 loss in Ellensburg… Highburger returned the fumble recovery 79 yards for a touchdown to help the Wolves recover from a 24-3 deficit and finish within a single score of the Wildcats.

GNAC PRESEASON POLL: Western Oregon was picked to finish fourth according to the GNAC Coaches' Preseason Poll… Defending champion Azusa Pacific received all five first-place votes to lead the pack… Central Washington and Humboldt State went second and third in the poll while Simon Fraser was picked to place fifth.
2016 RECAP: WOU finished 2016 with a 4-6 overall record and a 3-5 mark in GNAC contests… The Wolves opened the season with a 38-30 win at NCAA DI Sacramento State with WOU outgaining the Hornets 180 to 133 on the ground… WOU also played at NCAA DI Montana State to complete its non-conference schedule… The Wolves went 2-2 in the first half of GNAC play with a 48-42 win at then No. 24-ranked Humboldt State.

Trailing 17-14 in the second half, No. 22 Humboldt State used a run of 21 unanswered points to defeat Western Oregon University, 42-32, at the Redwood Bowl… The Lumberjacks controlled the start of the game with a pair of touchdowns inside the opening five minutes of play… Robert Webber tossed a 53-yard scoring pass to Marjani Ellison to open the account while Ja'Quan Gardner stumbled in for a 17-yard TD run to make it a 14-0 spread… Responding before the break, the Wolves placed 17 straight points on the board with quarterback

Nursing a 7-0 lead midway through the second quarter, No. 10-ranked Central Washington scored 21 points before the break en route to 1 42-0 win at McArthur Field on Oct. 14… The Wildcats outgains the home team 474 to 261 with quarterback Reilly Hennessey accounting for 364 yards in the air and 33 yards on the ground… Hennessey completed 24-of-32 attempts and tossed five touchdown passes…WOU was led by
