MONMOUTH, Ore.—For the second straight week, the Western Oregon University men's basketball team will host a four-team tournament with the Doubletree by Hilton DII Shootout taking place inside the New P.E. Gymnasium on Nov. 17-18. Azusa Pacific (Calif.), Dixie State (Utah) and Eastern New Mexico will join the Wolves in the two-day event.

ABOUT AZUSA PACIFIC (3-0): The Cougars have opened the season with three wins, including a 92-70 victory over Colorado Christian at home on Nov. 14… APU was picked to place fifth in the PacWest according to the league's preseason poll… The Cougars went 16-15 overall last season and 11-9 in conference play... APU is led by Preseason All-PacWest pick Petar Kutlesic, a senior forward that averaged 14.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game last season… Kutlesic was third in the PacWest in rebounding to earn his second consecutive second team All-PacWest selection.

ABOUT DIXIE STATE (1-2): The Trailblazers will arrive in Oregon with a 1-2 record following a 77-75 setback at Cal State Los Angeles on Nov. 13… DSU posted a 69-63 win over UC San Diego after dropping a double overtime affair, 79-75, to Cal Poly Pomona to start the season… The Trailblazers were picked to place second in the PacWest in the league's preseason poll... DSU is led by senior guard Trevor Hill, who averaged 14.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last season en route to earning All-PacWest and NAWC West Region second team honors… Dixie State went 19-9 overall last season and 16-4 in conference play.

ABOUT EASTERN NEW MEXICO (2-0): The Greyhound are coming off back-to-back wins to start the season, including a 73-72 victory over No. 16-ranked Fort Lewis on Nov. 11… WNMU compiled a 13-15 overall record last season with a 7-11 record in Lone Star Conference contests… The Greyhounds finished in a three-way tie seventh place in the LSC standings a year ago and were picked to place ninth in the league's preseason poll… WNMU lost its top three scorers from a year ago… Top returning scorers include Lemarquis Thompson (10.7 ppg) and Andre Hughes (7.3 ppg).

ABOUT WESTERN OREGON (2-0): WOU went 2-0 last week while hosting the GNAC/PacWest Challenge… The Wolves opened the year with a 70-69 win against Point Loma and followed the result with a 123-67 blowout against Fresno Pacific… The Wolves were picked to place second in the GNAC in the league's preseason poll after taking third a year ago… WOU returns three starters in guard Ali Faruq-Bey (15.0 ppg) and forwards Tanner Omlid (15.6 ppg) and JJ Chirnside (7.0 ppg)... Omlid, the GNAC's Defensive Player of the Year last season, was chosen by the leagues' coaches as the Preseason Player of the Year…  WOU went 18-13 overall and 13-7 in the GNAC last season.
