SEATTLE – Provisional marks in the men's and women's 800 meters highlighted day two action at the University of Washington Husky Open at Dempsey Indoor on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Men
Five WOU runners competed in the 800 meters on Saturday, including four in the second heat. Juniors
David Ribich and
Josh Dempsey finished 1-2 in the heat with NCAA provisional qualifying times. Ribich crossed the line with a time of 1:50.49, the ninth fastest in the nation at the Division II level, just ahead of Dempsey's 1:50.70 (12
th best in Division II). In the same heat,
Michael Chin posted a 1:55.86 and
AJ Holmberg came in at 1:57.12.
Dustin Nading ran in the third heat with a time of 1:54.19, putting him just outside the top 50 in the country this year.

Aaron Whitaker ran the 400 on Saturday after competing in the 200 meters yesterday. WHitake finished 16
th overall with a time of 49.43.

Alani Troutman finished sixth overall, second among Division II competition, in the long jump with a personal best of 6.95m (22-9 ¾).

HOW IT HAPPENED – Women
Like the WOU men, two provisional marks and personal bests were hit in the women's 800-meter race on Saturday.
Suzanne Van De Grift posted the best Western Oregon time with a NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 2:12.87, 17
th best in the nation, to win her heat. In the heat previous,
Olivia Woods finished second with her indoor personal best at 2:14.21 to rank 34
th in the country.

In the mile,
Nicole Maurmann cracked the nation's top 50 with a time of 5:01.28 (43
rd in Division II). The time was seven seconds better than the same distance two weeks ago at the UW Invitational.
