NEW ORLEANS – After a pair of top-25 national finishes, the Western Oregon University men's track & field/cross country team has moved into a No. 5 ranking in the NCAA DII Damon Martin Division II Men's Program of the Year Award standings.

Western Oregon scored a total of 27.5 points in the poll as the lone program in the West Region represented in the top 16. The Wolves tied for sixth place at the NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field Championships last week after placing 21st at the Cross Country Championships in the fall.

Adams State holds the men's lead at 4.0 points while Grand Valley State holds the runner-up position with 15 points. Colorado Mines (15 points) and Colorado State Pueblo (16.5 points) carry the No. 3-4 slots.

The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award honors the institution that has achieved the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field seasons) based on the institution's finish at the NCAA Championships.
