Pre-Participation Physical Examination Process
All student-athletes including prospective student-athletes must receive medical clearance annually before every competitive sports season from the Western Oregon University Sports Medicine Staff prior to participation in any “try-out” or “NCAA Reportable Accountable Athletic Activity”. Currently the institutional declared time and date for all sports pre-participation medical examinations has past. Therefore, you are personally and financially responsible to complete the pre-participation process.

The pre-participation examination consists of three different categories, "Late Returning Athlete," “Late Invite” and prospective student-athlete who will participate in a “Try-out”. If you are uncertain about your classification please consult with your prospective coach. The following definitions should help in determining your appropriate classifications.

Late Returning Athlete: A student-athlete who completed the pre-participation process last year and was a member of the 2008-09 team.

Late Invite: A student-athlete who is not required to participate in a “try-out” activity to be added to the current team roster.

Try-out: A student-athlete who is required to participate in a “try-out” activity before they can be added to the current team roster.

In order to facilitate your medical clearance to participate please complete all of the requirements for your appropriate classification at the following websites:
